I started doing some 16kg snatches, 140 consecutives or 7 sets of 10/10, without placing it on floor. Light snatches are good to cover detailed techniques such as breathing mechanism and quick hand switch.
Then decided to do Kenneth Jay's VO2MAX Boost protocol. My VO2MAX snatch cadence tells me to use 20kg but I don't have the object and not available in this country unless I order another huge bulk from DD. So decided to do with 16kg.
3 sets of 15/15, all 8 reps
3 sets of 30/30, all 16 reps.
I tried a set of 15 on 15 off protocol with 24kg and reached 8 reps. It may be a good idea to begin this boost with 24kg.

Ahhhh! You too have been seduced by the power of the VO2Max dark side. You should be boosting with the 24kg .. end of story. And then move on to the 32kg when you quickly master the 24kg.
Have you ever done the 24kg SSST? If not, I bet it wouldn't take too much training for you to achieve it.
Last August or so, I ended up doing 197 with 24kg SSST. I was aiming for 180 (being complacent) and turned out I could go for more and time ran out.
According to Kenneth Jay's lengthy lecture, 32kg is not suited for his protocol.
Holy mackerel .. 197 in the SSST is fantastic! Being that close to 200 without VO2 training is amazing.
Didn't know the 32kg was not VO2 material, but there is always the 32kg version of the SSST (USSST?) awaiting you
if you get bored!
Well now having lots of students, my PR is never priority.
The thing with VO2MAX, it has to be done 8 times within 15 seconds at least or probably Kenneth Jay wants it faster. I've done 18 reps with 36 seconds 32kg snatch however lacked overhead lockout.
